About Erica Weidler

As a board-certified Apprentice in Sexology, and Sexuality Counselor and Educator, Ms. Weidler founded Copper and Sage Counseling, LLC. Ms. Weidler holds a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Houston, and a master’s degree in special education and applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. She received a post-graduate certificate in Sexuality Education and Sexuality Counseling from the University of Michigan Sexual Health Certificate Program.

With over 20 years of experience in clinical research, Ms. Weidler continues to work in the Reproductive Anomalies/Differences of Sex Development clinic at Phoenix Children’s beginning in 2014 as a psychology researcher. She also holds an appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Child Health at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.  Her research interests include sexual health and quality of life, positive body image, patient autonomy and shared decision-making, disclosure and education, and improving psychosocial outcomes in individuals with chronic or congenital conditions. Ms. Weidler is a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors & Therapists (AASECT), the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA). She is also a member of the Society of Counseling Psychology, American Psychological Association (APA) Division 17, the Society for Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity, APA Division 44, and the Society of Pediatric Psychology, APA Division 54.
